Requirements for foreigner’s people who wants to get married en the Dominican Republic:
- Passport, original and copy;
- Certification letter of single status issued by the authority in the country of origin and legalized by the Dominican Consulate;
- Tourist Card, Residence Card or Identity card, as applicable.
The ceremony will be performed by the Civil Registrar of the place of residence of one of the spouses in the presence of at least two witnesses. About the economic matters, the community of property system is the legal regime which is automatically applied to all couples marrying in the Dominican Republic. This system of community is formed by all the personal property and real estate property acquired during the marriage.
If the couple wants to select another system as regime to protect the individual goods, they shall do a contract before the marriage.
